Why don't I see billing hints?
MBS billing hints draw on the Australian Medicare Benefits Schedule, so they're shown to Australian organisations only and switched off everywhere else.
If your organisation is outside Australia — New Zealand, the United Kingdom, or anywhere on the Global profile — the billing-hint surface is missing on purpose — it is not a fault, a permission, or something to switch on.
MBS billing hints draw on the Australian Medicare Benefits Schedule. Item numbers from the wrong country’s schedule would be worse than no hint at all, so the feature is shown to Australian organisations only and switched off everywhere else.
What that doesn’t change
Nothing else is withheld. The consult still produces the note, the referral letters and the tasks, and they still export as clean text and PDF/A. Your plan is the full product either way — the hints are absent because the schedule is Australian, not because of what you pay.
Is a UK or NZ billing feature coming?
There is nothing to announce. We would rather say that than list a feature with no date attached. If billing codes are the thing that would decide it for your practice, tell us — that is exactly the feedback that shapes what gets built.
Whatever you bill is entered where you enter it today: Akoua doesn’t lodge claims, and a billing hint is never written back through a practice-software integration.
