No invisible errors

It tells you when it's not sure.

Most AI scribes hand you a confident, fluent note — and a confident error is the one you sign without noticing. Akoua flags what it isn't sure it heard and what it couldn't place cleanly, so your attention goes straight to the few spots that need it.

"Not sure I heard this." A dotted underline — tap to listen back to that moment.

"Heard it, couldn't place it." A highlighted block with a review tag — re-read and settle it.

[not stated] — anything absent is marked, never invented. Safety-critical gaps are flagged, not silently dropped.

Only what was said.

How it works

Listen. Draft. Review. Done.

Words appear about a second and a half after they're spoken, already knowing which voice is yours. The note drafts itself from only what was said.

Privacy you can verify

Private by design, wherever you practise.

Deleted by default, and never used to train models — where audio is processed depends on your region. Every one of those is a live check the patient can watch in the room — not a line in a policy.

Deleted by default

Audio stays encrypted only while you review. The moment you confirm the note, it's deleted — abandoned drafts are wiped within 7 days, automatically. The patient gets a QR deletion receipt they can re-scan to see it confirmed.

Where it's processed

Processing depends on your region — on Akoua's own infrastructure where a sovereign region is available, otherwise on vetted global providers under your organisation's consent, never used to train models.

Verifiable, not just promised

A patient-facing privacy view runs live checks — encryption, residency, deletion, audit — in the room, during the consult. Every access is written to an append-only audit log.

Where Akoua runs

Stored in Australia. Processed where you practise.

Your clinical record is always stored in Australia. What changes by region is where the audio is processed. Your organisation chooses one profile when it signs up — it applies to everyone, and can't be switched in place.

AU SovereignYour regionFor organisations in Australia

Processing stays in Australia

For organisations in Australia. Transcription, attribution and drafting run on Akoua's own Australian infrastructure. Any managed fallback stays on Australian-resident providers — and only with your explicit consent.

Stored in Australia, processed globally

For organisations outside Australia. Your clinical record is stored in Sydney. Audio and transcripts are processed by vetted global providers (AWS Bedrock, Deepgram) under your organisation's consent — and neither uses your data to train their models.

Dictation

Letters and notes by voice, with RACGP-aware referral drafting.

Telehealth

Desktop capture for both sides of a Zoom or Teams consult.

Measured, not promised

Numbers we're prepared to stand behind.

Every figure comes from our benchmark suite — synthetic Australian-accent consult audio and adversarial edge cases — with its qualifier attached. That's the point.

0 / 158
Fabricated medication names

158 adversarial sound-alike recordings tried to trick it into hearing a drug. It never invented one.

93%
Medication-name recall

On clean audio. Recovery shows its work — corrections are visible, revertible, and structurally can't insert a drug that wasn't spoken.

~1.5 s
Speech to words on screen

Streamed live as you speak; confirmed text within a few seconds. Same consult in, same note out — drafting is deterministic.

100%
Statements grounded to the transcript

An independent check verifies every drafted statement against what was actually said — grounding precision 1.00 on our gold set.

And in every benchmark condition, zero confident speaker mislabels — when it can't tell who spoke, it says so instead of guessing.

Tuned for Australian medicine

The benchmarks are Australian because the product is. It's tested on Australian-accent consult audio, and its vocabulary, billing and letters are built on the systems you actually work with.

Questions

The essentials, honestly answered.

An AI medical scribe listens to a clinical consultation and drafts a structured note. Akoua transcribes in near real time — words appear about a second and a half after speech — distinguishes your voice from everyone else’s, and produces a draft note you review and confirm before anything is saved.

Audio is processed inside Akoua’s private Australian cloud (Sydney) and deleted by default — kept encrypted only while you review, deleted the moment you confirm the note, with a hard 7-day ceiling on abandoned drafts. It is never sent to a third-party AI provider and never used to train models — nothing leaves Akoua’s own infrastructure.

No. Akoua is a documentation aid, not a diagnostic or decision-support tool. It records what was said and never invents clinical content — anything not stated is marked [not stated], and you confirm every note before it is saved or exported.

It surfaces uncertainty instead of hiding it: anything it wasn’t sure it heard or couldn’t place cleanly is flagged for your eye, and every note statement is grounded to the transcript. And its privacy is verifiable — live patient-facing checks and a QR deletion receipt, not just a policy PDF. Built for Australia: PBS/AMH drug vocabulary, MBS billing hints, RACGP-aware letters.

Akoua is launching soon and early access is open now. Founders pricing for individuals is A$79/month + GST, locked in for as long as your subscription stays active. Standard individual pricing will be A$99/month or A$990/year, and practice plans run A$69–89 per clinician per month depending on size. All plans are the full product.

Web, iPhone and Apple Watch — including standalone capture from the wrist, no phone needed — plus Mac and Windows desktop apps for telehealth capture, all under one subscription. The mobile and desktop apps are in the final stage of app-store review; early-access members get in as each becomes available. Android is on the way.

Not yet — today, notes and letters export as clean text and PDF you paste or attach. Integrations with Best Practice, Medical Director, Cliniko, HealthLink, Medical Objects and My Health Record are on the roadmap; we’ll say “integrated” only when it actually is.

Be first to write notes you can trust.
