Can I record a consult from my Apple Watch?

Yes — from the wrist you can start, stop and check a recording while your iPhone stays in your pocket. In v1 the watch app is a companion to the iPhone app: the iPhone does the capturing, and it needs to be nearby. Standalone capture from the watch alone is on the roadmap, not in the app today.

That’s what a ward round asks for: bedside to bedside, quick capture from the phone or the wrist, without unlocking anything larger.

The rules don’t change on the wrist

A watch or phone may capture the conversation, but no note is committed anywhere without your explicit review and confirmation. The same consent gates, the same [not stated] discipline, the same audit trail — on every platform.

Where the note gets reviewed

The web app is the full product in your browser — capture, review, letters, tasks, and billing hints for Australian organisations. Wherever you review the draft, it still needs your explicit confirmation before it is finalised or exported, and by default the audio Akoua holds is deleted the moment you confirm.

What we haven’t published

We haven’t published a date for standalone watch capture — it’s on the roadmap, and we’d rather say that than name a date we might miss. If the companion behaviour matters for the way your ward round runs, ask us and we’ll tell you where it stands.
