Yes — the United Kingdom service is live and open. Sign up with a UK organisation; individuals and two-seat practices start with 14 days free, and practices of three or more clinicians are charged from day one. Founders pricing is £49/month ex VAT for an individual, locked for as long as the subscription stays active; standard is £69/month or £690/year ex VAT — what does Akoua cost in the United Kingdom? has the full ladder.
Here is exactly what exists today, and what is still Australian about it.
What is settled
The United Kingdom has its own region — UK Sovereign. The clinical record is stored in London; transcription runs on Deepgram’s EU regional service and note drafting on Amazon Bedrock, invoked from AWS London and served in AWS’s EU regions, for every consult, under the UK’s adequacy regulations for the EEA. The deployment is isolated from every other Akoua region.
The documents your practice’s privacy officer will ask for are already published, not promised:
- the UK privacy notice — who controls what, where it lives, your rights under UK GDPR, our Article 27 representatives, and the ICO as the complaint route;
- the UK Data Processing Schedule — the Article 28 terms, including breach notification, deletion windows and audit;
- the UK sub-processor list — every provider, what it does, and where.
UK pricing is published too, in GBP excluding VAT, with the inc-VAT figure beside every price. The founders rate is locked at sign-up, so it is held for as long as your subscription stays active once you start one.
Signing up
Every UK sign-up button on this site goes to the UK application cell at uk.akoua.ai/signup. Individuals and two-seat practices start with 14 days free — card required, cancel anytime; practices of three or more clinicians are charged from day one, and the founders rate is locked at sign-up.
The apps follow the same rule. Choosing the United Kingdom region signs you in to the UK service; account creation is on the web at uk.akoua.ai, and the Mac App Store companion remains sign-in-only and directs account setup there.
One contractual item is also still in flight, and it is named plainly in the documents above. The agreement template for support access from Australia incorporates the UK IDTA with the EU Standard Contractual Clauses by reference, but that documentation is not yet executed. The transcription provider’s data-processing agreement, which was the second, is signed by both parties as of 4 September 2026.
What is Australian about it
The product’s clinical tuning is Australian today: the drug vocabulary is PBS/AMH, and letter completeness gates are RACGP-aware. There is no UK-specific drug vocabulary, no UK billing feature, and no UK-accent benchmark — and we won’t imply otherwise. MBS billing hints are Australian-only and are switched off for UK organisations entirely.
What is region-neutral is most of the product: near-live transcription, telling who is speaking, the two uncertainty flags, [ not stated ], listening back to any flag, grounding every statement to the transcript, and the rule that nothing is saved until you confirm it. Those work the same wherever you practise.
If that trade-off doesn’t suit your practice, we’d rather you knew now. If it does, sign up and try it in your next clinic.
