From today, the United Kingdom service is open. A UK organisation can sign up at uk.akoua.ai, add a card, and record its next consented consultation from the web app in a browser — no invitation, no waiting list, and nothing to install on the practice network.
Akoua is a private AI medical scribe that shows you exactly what it heard, flags anything it isn’t sure of, and drafts the note for you to confirm. One line we keep on every page, because it is a boundary and not a slogan: Akoua is a documentation aid, not a diagnostic device. It makes no clinical inferences. It writes down what was said and marks what wasn’t.
Stored in the United Kingdom
The United Kingdom runs its own region. On UK Sovereign, your clinical record is stored in the United Kingdom. Transcription and note drafting run on vetted services within the European Union, under the consent your organisation gives — disclosed on every note — and are never used to train models.
Every access to a record is written to an append-only audit log. Audio is deleted by default the moment you confirm the note, and always within 7 days. A patient-facing privacy view runs those checks live, in the room — and the patient can keep a QR deletion receipt that flips to “Verified” when Akoua’s own copy of the audio is gone — what the receipt does and doesn’t prove.
The paperwork, already written down
What your practice’s privacy officer will ask for is published, not promised:
- the UK privacy notice — who controls what, where it lives, and your rights under UK GDPR;
- the UK Data Processing Schedule — the Article 28 terms: instructions, breach notice, deletion, audit;
- the UK sub-processor list — every provider, what it does and where it processes.

Honest about what is Australian
The product’s clinical tuning is Australian today: the drug vocabulary is PBS/AMH, and letter completeness gates are RACGP-aware. There is no UK-specific drug vocabulary, no UK billing feature, and no UK-accent benchmark — and we won’t imply otherwise. What is region-neutral is most of the product: near-live transcription, telling who is speaking, the two uncertainty flags, [ not stated ], listening back to any flag, grounding every statement to the transcript, and the rule that nothing is saved until you confirm it. Those work the same wherever you practise.
Pricing, in GBP
Founders pricing is £49 a month excluding VAT (£58.80 including VAT), locked in for as long as your subscription stays active. Standard individual pricing is £69 a month or £690 a year excluding VAT, and practice plans run £55 to £69 per seat a month excluding VAT depending on size. Every plan is the full product; we don’t gate features by tier. Individuals and two-seat practices start with 14 days free — a card is required at sign-up, and you can cancel any time during the trial without being charged. Practices of three or more clinicians are charged from day one.
It runs in the browser on whatever the surgery already owns, with optional apps for Windows, Mac, iPhone and Apple Watch, and Android — the apps page has the store link for each, and one subscription covers every device.
