Akoua 1.1.5 for Windows adds clinical documents in beta, brings the latest transcript and Review refinements together, and fixes several things owner testing found on the desktop app.
Clinical documents, in beta
You can now see the documents held for a patient, import a PDF straight from the patient record, and compose a document from what the record already holds. Several PDFs can be imported at once, each shown as its own chip while it uploads, and a draft you no longer want can be discarded.
This is a beta surface. As with everything else in Akoua, a composed document is a draft until you read it and confirm it.
A Review workspace that says what it is waiting for
The review rail now names the speaker clusters it could previously only complain about, retires an item once you have dealt with it, and accepts a section you have deliberately left blank.
When you confirm a medication change, it now reaches the patient’s list, and Applied means the change was written rather than attempted. Where the record already lists the same drug twice, that is surfaced on its own card instead of passing by in silence. Akoua shows you what the record holds and what was said; the decision stays yours.
Note grounding now paints quickly on screen, offers Retry, and says plainly when the check could not finish rather than implying something is wrong with the note.
More distinct speakers, less visual clutter
Speaker colours have been spread further apart in hue and lightness, with stronger colour bars beside the transcript. The name column now fits its labels within a shared alignment, leaving more room for the conversation.
We’ve fixed a telehealth case where different speaker labels appeared in the same colour. The speaker key now matches the names and colours shown in the transcript.
The bottom key follows the tab you’re reading. Transcript explains speaker colours, Corrected and Unsure heard; Note explains Couldn’t structure. Fewer unrelated labels, and a clearer cue for what to check.
Review refreshes the transcript when the draft finishes, so it does not keep showing an earlier snapshot of speaker attribution. Where a voice match is available, its explanation sits beside the name rather than being repeated as part of the name on each row.
The transcription flag stays clear of the words while keeping its explanation available. Written labels remain visible, and uncertain speaker identity is never filled in with a guess.
Listening back, and saving what you export
Listen on an unsure part of the transcript now plays from that moment whether or not the recording is already open. If the recording is still downloading, it waits and starts there rather than appearing to ignore you.
Exporting a letter or a note now asks where to save the file, and tells you it saved only once the file is written. It previously reported a download that never arrived. Cancelling the save says so, instead of reading as a failure.
A window sized for reading
The window opens taller so the transcript has room, and fits itself to smaller screens. It no longer resizes itself when you start a session, the window-size buttons stay under your pointer when you switch between sizes, and returning to the full size returns to the size you were using.
The recent desktop refinements, together
The Akoua Cloud selector explains Australia and New Zealand plainly. After a saved country change, Restart Akoua now applies the choice without asking you to find the separate Quit action in the system tray. Restart remains unavailable during recording or finalisation.
Review’s toolbar fits the default window, wider displays and narrow panes. A− / A+ controls remember your preferred transcript size, and long content fades into the warm bone background instead of ending with an abrupt gap.
Updated recording and copying support
Short pronunciation recordings use the updated audio engine, retaining the recording limit and cancellation cleanup. Confirmed text uses Windows’ native clipboard support, with the existing alternatives if copying is unavailable.
When additional processing permission is needed, transcription and note-drafting choices now appear together as one moment at the start. If recording is already available, Record without note drafting leaves the drafting choice for later.
Every generated note, letter or task remains a draft until you review and explicitly confirm it.
