Akoua 1.1.5 for iPhone makes starting, reviewing and refreshing a consult clearer and more reliable. It also keeps the Apple Watch companion aligned with the phone.
Decide about note drafting before recording
When a consult needs separate permission for transcription and note drafting, Akoua can show both disclosures together before recording. The provider and purpose of each remain separate, and one permission never grants the other.
If recording is already available and only note drafting needs a choice, you can make that choice before you begin. Or choose Record without note drafting and decide about drafting when you review the consult. That option leaves the later choice open; it does not record a refusal.
An expired choice now has a Get a fresh offer action, so you can read the current details without restarting the consult. If an earlier attempt was interrupted, Akoua can safely prepare a fresh session instead of leaving you stuck on the consent screen. Ordinary consent to record remains a separate requirement.
Easier-to-follow speaker colours
Speaker colours are now more distinct in both hue and lightness, matching the updated web and desktop palette. Written speaker labels remain alongside them, and colour never stands in for evidence about someone’s identity.
Named speakers also keep their names in the transcript instead of falling back to a generic role label. When someone who spoke is still unnamed, Who was speaking? takes you straight to the existing rename control without pretending the identity is known.
A calmer, more useful review
Review checks now say they are still running while they load. The failure warning and Retry action are reserved for a completed error, while Confirm continues to wait until every check has answered.
The Needs your eye card is tighter, with + more and Dismiss sharing one footer line. A missing-section check opens the editor ready to type, and Add a section lets you extend one note without changing its template.
When review finds a medicine mentioned that is not yet on the patient record, Apply now reliably adds it and keeps Undo available. Grounding coverage also names any clinician-written sections it did not grade, so the percentage says exactly what it covers.
Patient details and tasks stay clear
An open patient record now stays visible if a pull-to-refresh is cancelled or the connection drops, with a calm inline Retry. It also refreshes after confirmed note, medicine or letter changes so the screen catches up with the action you just took.
Task cards now use one consistent, compact order for the title, patient or date, and category—even when the patient comes from the linked consultation.
Apple Watch stays in step
The Apple Watch companion remains aligned with iPhone 1.1.5 for paired-phone recording controls and status. This update does not add standalone recording on the watch.
Confirmation stays with you
Every generated note, letter or task remains a draft until you review and explicitly confirm it.
