Akoua for Android — v1.1.6

Dr Tyson K··3 min read

Version 1.1.6 makes it easier to move from a finished conversation to the work that comes next, with a fresher Home screen, more reliable letters and meetings, and a clearer review experience.

Your latest consult appears on Home

When you finish a consultation and return to Home, the new session now appears without restarting Akoua. You can also pull down to refresh Home whenever you want the latest list.

If a refresh cannot finish, Akoua keeps the consultations it already loaded visible and gives you a quiet way to try again instead of replacing the list with an empty state.

Dictate, confirm and export letters

Letter dictation now uses the live transcription pathway configured for your practice, matching the way consultation recording works. If Android has to recreate the screen while you are dictating, the recording stays attached to the same draft and can continue settling safely.

Typed-letter generation is more reliable too, including when the available note-drafting pathway changes after the initial privacy check. Akoua shows the current choice instead of ending with a generic generation error.

Once you confirm a letter, the main action becomes Export. You can download the canonical PDF or share the letter as text, without having to hunt for a separate control.

Meeting notes get moving sooner

For managed recordings, Akoua can now begin drafting meeting minutes automatically when transcription finishes. Older meetings keep their existing Generate action, so nothing is silently rewritten.

The live transcript drawer also closes completely when you press Back, rather than lingering over the recording screen.

A clearer start and review

When a consult needs separate permission for transcription and note drafting, Akoua can show both choices before recording while keeping the permissions distinct. If recording is available but note drafting needs a separate decision, you can choose Record without note drafting and decide again during review. An expired offer can be refreshed without restarting the consult.

Draft checks now say Checking… while they are still running. Retry appears only after a real load failure, and Confirm continues to wait until every check has answered.

You can add a custom section to a note, and Who was speaking? takes you to the transcript naming control when someone who spoke is still unnamed. The Needs your eye card is more compact, duplicate-medication items use a clearer label, and grounding percentages say when clinician-written sections were not checked.

Easier-to-follow speakers and safer refreshes

Transcript speaker colours now have more room between them in both hue and lightness. Speaker labels remain visible, and colour never stands in for a confirmed identity.

Patient pull-to-refresh keeps the last loaded details, consultations and letters on screen if a refresh fails. It also prevents an older refresh from visually replacing a patient edit saved after that refresh began.

Still yours to review

Every generated note, letter, meeting minute or task remains a draft until you review and explicitly confirm it.
