Akoua 1.1.4 for Android is now live on Google Play. It is a focused update to the part of the app you meet first: choosing your practice country, signing in, and getting into Akoua without having to wonder which service you are using.
A clearer first hello
On a fresh install, Akoua now asks for your practice country before sign-in. The welcome screen then keeps that country visible and gives you a clear way to change it.
That choice follows the whole sign-in path. Password links and passkeys use the Akoua service for that country, and the create-account option appears only when sign-up is available for the country you chose.
Australia and New Zealand remain distinct choices, even though both use Akoua’s Australian service. The app says which one you selected rather than leaving you to infer it.
Smoother sign-in
Password and passkey sign-in are more reliable in the Android app and on the Akoua website. Compatible password managers can offer the same saved credentials in both places, while passkeys follow the practice country you chose.
Android now feels like Akoua from the first screen
The welcome screen now uses the same warm bone colour, lighter paper texture, spacing and calmer hierarchy as iOS. The wording has been tightened too, with company provenance, hosting and processing kept as separate facts.
We also fixed a first-run crash that could occur after a clean reinstall when a country was selected. The corrected 1.1.4 version is the one now available on Google Play.
What has not changed
Recording, draft review and confirmation work as before. Every generated note, letter or task remains a draft until you review and confirm it.
A note on the version number
Our last Android release article was v1.0, and the previous Google Play version was v1.1.2. Rather than backdate several short posts, this note catches up with everything that has changed since the last article.
