Privacy, audio and deletion

Where recordings go, what the audit log records, and how deletion is proved.

What happens to the audio from a consult?

Consult audio is recorded only in a consented session, kept encrypted while you review, and the copy Akoua holds is deleted by default the moment you confirm the note.

What is the deletion receipt?

The QR receipt a patient can keep: login-free, no patient details, and it flips to Verified when the copy of the audio Akoua holds is actually gone.

Who can listen to a recording?

Only you can listen back, and only while the draft is open. Every access is written to an append-only audit log.

Is my data used to train AI?

No. Not audio, not transcripts, not notes — clinical data is never used to train models, by Akoua or by its providers.

What does the audit log record?

Every access to a clinical record is written to an append-only log, enforced by a database trigger — entries can be added, never edited or removed.

UK GDPR — who controls your data, and what your rights are

Your practice is the controller of clinical data and Akoua is its processor. Your rights, the Article 27 representatives, the request portal and the ICO route.

Audio goes by default. On termination, clinical data is deleted within 14 days; encrypted backups expire on a 35-day cycle in the UK region; the evidence trail is retained.
